This was my first Samantha Wayland book, and I really enjoyed it! Although I will say, there are a lot of secondary characters that I was a little confused about at first. I would definitely recommend reading the other 2 books surrounding these characters first. There were several previous story lines that I struggled to figure out at the beginning of this book. Otherwise, I liked this book and the characters very much. I enjoyed reading a Hero like Lachlan. He was Uber shy and awkward, but so endearing and ended up being much hotter than I expected. He's definitely not an alpha male, but became sweetly protective and swoon worthy in his own way. Definitely recommend this book!

Out of Her League edition by Samantha Wayland Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews

And I thought Callum was my favorite brother. Michaela and Lachlan are perfect together. I love how their sweet romance bloomed. Such a good book!
Loved this book and really enjoyed reading more about both Michaela and Lachlan. I loved how shy Lachlan was and how patient Michaela was with him. She called him out on his issues in such a fun way and really helped him work through it. The build up to their romance was very believable and really touching. Great story, great characters, and great chemistry! Highly Recommend
Another fantastic book by Samantha Wayland. I've loved all of Samantha's books and couldn't wait to read Michaela and Lachlan's story after meeting them in the previous books. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend reading all of her books. Her characters are well-developed and leap off the page. Her writing is fantastic and you won't want to put this one down.
Like all of this author's books, I very much enjoyed reading this book, and will enjoy rereading in the future. Beyond the good writing, and fun characters, I like the fact that not all her protagonist end up in the same type of relationship. I seems like manège writers have everyone end up in a menege, straight writ terra have everyone end up in a "traditional" relationship, and so forth. But Ms. Wayland seems to just chose what is appropriate for the story.
I was very underwhelmed by this novel. I had a hard time feeling sympathetic toward Michaela; I got it that it's hard being harassed by the paparazzi but the poor little rich girl thing just didn't do it for me. There were also too many key background questions not addressed for example, how did Michaela get to know Callum well enough in the first place to pretend to date him? The depiction of Lachlan's career-- and the so-called conflict it created for the couple--was completely unrealistic. So despite having enjoyed some other novels by this author, this one left me completely cold.
We already know Michaela from her days of 'fake dating' Callum Morrison. We know Lachlan as the quiet, wise brother / brother in law, and special comrade to Rhian. But now Michaela has moved to Boston to attend law school, and Lachlan is the only friend Michaela has in town.

She is constantly hounded by the media for her colorful past - not any of her own doing, though. He is painfully shy and steers clear of the public at all costs. How is this every going to work? Well....of course it does end up working. Because Michaela has 'rules' for dealing with the public, and she actually ends up with more friends in Boston than she ever realized.

I wish there were MORE books about the Morrisons. I also want a book about Chelsea Lynch (Rhian's sister) and now a book for Robby.....and Eric.....not that I am asking too much, I don't think. )
As Unlimited/Free 100 kind of reader, I generally will only purchase books by authors I like. I've enjoyed reading this author's work in the past because the relationships were refreshing and unconventional. This book was a little slow-paced for me, and the opportunity for better character development was there. I also prefer more of a solid ending, but that could just be me. I will, however, continue to be a fan of Samantha Wayland.
